Internationally recognized speaker to address the 2009 GACE conference!

The opening keynote speaker for the 2009 GACE conference is Dr. Rajeev Dhawan. Dr. Dhawan is the Director of the Economic Forecasting Center at the Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University (http://www.rdhawan.com/)

Dr. Dhawan develops forecasts for the U.S., Southeast regional, and local metro Atlanta economies.  These forecasts are regularly published and presented to business executives and the media at the Center's popular, well-respected quarterly forecasting conferences . A sought-after international speaker, he has presented at conferences in Spain , Argentina , Canada , Sweden , Japan , India , Dominican Republic and across the U.S.

He has received several awards for his forecasting accuracy, including most accurate GDP forecast by Bloomberg News in 2005 .  The Bank One Economic Outlook Center at Arizona State University in 2003 named him the most accurate forecaster for US employment.  He has also been listed among Georgia Trend magazine's "100 Most Influential Georgians" for three consecutive years.  Dr. Dhawan is known for his ability to articulate complex economic issues in terms that are extremely relevant to the business community.

Mike Gomez
Allegro Consulting
President

Mike is president of Allegro Consulting, an Atlanta-based growth specialty consulting firm providing intensive, individualized planning and operational advice for mid-sized service and manufacturing businesses.

Mike launched Allegro after serving as Vice President, Business Development for Hupp Aerospace, a small logistics services company. He was instrumental in transforming their operations and growing gross revenues from $8M to $35M in two years.

Prior to Hupp, Mike was Director, Business Development for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics where he was responsible for all military fighter and transport aircraft sales to the Middle East. He also served as International Vice President for Strategic Development for Poland during the Polish fighter jet competition. His insights there led to
a realignment of the F-16 marketing strategy resulting in the sale of 48 jets for $3.5 billion.

Before Lockheed, Mike served as the F-15I Program Manager for Boeing (formerlyMcDonnell Douglas). Mr. Gomez had full P&L over a $2.5B program to design and produce 25 jet fighters for the Israeli Air Force. Prior to this Mike led all business development activity in Israel which directly resulted in the 1994, $2.5 billion sale. He
joined McDonnell Douglas as a System Safety Engineer.

In total, Mike is responsible for over $5 billion in sales and has worked in over 20 countries.

Mike also served as an officer in the United States Air Force and as a civilian aerospace engineer for the United States Navy.

Mike has an Aircraft Engineering Degree from Western Michigan University. He is both an FAA certified fixed-wing and helicopter pilot and the recipient of the U.S. government’s Sustained Superior Performance Award.
