Summary:

Emotional Intelligence is a distinctive way in determining a person's success and a way to understand how someone will react in situations and behave when faced with challenges. Emotional intelligence is a skill that can be learned and improved; therefore, HR professionals and career counselors need to learn ways to increase the EQ of their employees and clients. Come learn ways to assess and develop emotional intelligence in your recruits, current employees, clients, and ultimately yourself.

Presenter:

Theres W. Stifer, Ph.D is the Director for Management and Executive Education at the Donald W. Reynolds Center for Enterprise Development at the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas. Theres has worked in higher education for 17 years and has earned her doctorate in Higher Education Leadership from the University of Arkansas. She is involved with local, regional, and national organizations. She has served as President of the Oklahoma Association of Colleges and Employers, the President  of Southwest Association of Colleges and Employers (SWACE), and is the first Arkansan to ever sit on the executive board of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE). She is also an instructor for the NACE Management Leadership Institute.

Theres has presented to regional and national organizations and universities in Oklahoma, Louisiana, Missouri, Arkansas, New York, Pennsylvania, and Texas.  Her presentations have included” “Creating and Cultivating the Spirit of Celebration at Work…in Life”, “Career Development for the Career Developer”. “Situational Leadership”, among others.
