The _____________ Career Center partners with over 40 colleges and universities across the state of Georgia each year to host the GACE (Georgia Association of Colleges and Employers) Statewide Career Fair. This year, it will be held on:

Wednesday, April 12th

Cobb Galleria, Atlanta, GA

If you are seeking a summer internship or a full-time job, this is an EXCELLENT opportunity for you to connect with over 150 employers in one location! Some graduate schools will be in attendance as well. Note that some of these organizations do NOT come to our campus to recruit, and this is your one opportunity this year to make these connections.

Here are a few other helpful reminders to get you ready for the Statewide Career Fair:

 Join us for the Pre-Career Fair Pit Crew: April 12, 10-11 a.m. in Cobb Galleria Room 105. Walk-in for strategies, practice tips, attire & meet with Career Service staff & employers.

 Download the FREE Guidebook app in the App store! Search for "2017 GACE Statewide Career Fair" and download the guide that appears.

 Bring your school ID or a driver’s license and copies of your resume.

 Professional attire is required. A conservative business suit is your best. Visit ow.ly/ILtJK for professional dress examples and for more information on clothing that will NOT be permitted at the GACE Career Fair.

We hope you will join us! Visit this link for more information and to see the list of participating organizations:

Other Announcements

You’re invited to the Competency Symposium 2017:

Drafting a Blueprint for the Future

Competency development is essential for student success for life after graduation. Universities are integrating this initiative campus-wide by infusing intentional student learning mapped to competencies into the curriculum and co-curriculum. Clemson University and The University of Tampa are co-hosting a “Strategies for Institutional-wide Competency Development” symposium on May 24 and 25, 2017 on the campus of Clemson University.

We have designed this symposium to bring faculty, employers, campus administrators, career services staff, and other campus partners together to discuss strategic, campus-wide approaches. Institutions will be encouraged to bring teams, but individuals may also benefit from this experience and will have the opportunity to connect with other individual attendees.

Quick Details

• Who: Faculty, employers, campus administrators, career services staff, and other campus partners who are interested in, or at any point in, the development of a competency initiative

• What: Opportunity for participants to identify where they are in developing a competency initiative and have in-depth conversations to develop next steps

• When: Wednesday May 24 at 6:00pm to Thursday May 25, 2017 at 4:30pm

• Where: Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina

• Registration Fee: $75 per person (Register 4 and the 5th registration is FREE**)

Have we caught your attention? Interested in seeing the symposium schedule? Good!

Thursday, August 10, 2017
Emory University's Miller-Ward Alumni House in Atlanta, GA

**Registration will open July 1, 2017**

GACE is turning the table on employers! For one day only, recruiters will work the room and colleges & universities will be behind the table. This will be a great "one stop shop" for employers to learn how to recruit talent from GACE member schools and for GACE member schools to recruit new employers to hire their students.
