2019 Call for Programs

The theme for the 2019 GACE Annual Conference in Young Harris, GA is the Kentucky Derby, and we are looking for breakout sessions that follow the tagline "Going for the Triple Crown: Career Success, Recruitment, and Student Engagement."  The goal for our breakout sessions is to align them with the NACE's 8 core competencies for college and university career services practitioners.

We invite you to submit a breakout session proposal to share you expertise, experiences, and best practices with colleagues.

    DISCLAIMERS:

    • All proposals should be submitted through the GACE website at gace.org
    • Each accepted presenter must register for the GACE conference unless approved by the Conference Committee.
    • No honorarium or travel expenses will be paid for conference presenters.

    BREAKOUT SESSIONS:

    The goal for the breakout sessions is to provide programs about a variety of topics that will appeal to both career services professionals as well as employers. Topics should include one or more of NACE's professional competencies for college and university career services practitioners listed below. Please note that the topics listed below serve only as examples, and new ideas are always welcome!

    NACE Competencies

    • Teamwork/Collaboration 
    • Information Technology Application 
    • Leadership
    • Professionalism/Work Ethic
    • Career Management
    • Global/Intercultural Fluency

    Important Breakout Session Notes:

    • Each session will last for one hour.
    • Sessions will take place on May 29th and 30th.
    • Presenters must submit a copy of their presentation/notes (if applicable) to Erin Stapleton (estaple3@kenessaw.edu) AND Heather Kahl (heather.l.kahl@ehi.com) by Tuesday, May 21st.
