    Department Information

    The Georgia Tech Career Center is a part of the Georgia Tech Office of Undergraduate Education. The Career Center helps students prepare for their future through career exploration, internships, career advising, career fairs, career education, and more.

    The Career Center includes the cooperative education (Co-op) and internship programs in which students can participate while attending Georgia Tech, and Career Education team provides with resources the students need to support their searches for full-time employment after graduation, such as help with the exploration, selection, and pursuit of meaningful careers; career counseling; resume writing interview tips, and more.

    Job Summary

    The Career Events Manager will oversee and implement all aspects of career-related events and coordinate services with other campus offices involved in career and professional development. The manager will also serve as a resource to other campus units that host career-related fairs and events. Finally, the manager will strive to help improve the impact, effectiveness, and efficiency of the career center by supporting the needs of the career education and the employer relations teams.This position will interact on a consistent basis with: Career Center staff, student ambassadors, vendors and campus stakeholders.This position will typically advise and counsel: staff and students involved in event planning and coordination.     Job Duty 1 -

    Manage event logistics for both the career education and employer relations teams; coordinate event logistics with other campus offices and colleges involved in career and professional development.

    Job Duty 2 -
    Communicate and manage relationships with external partners involved in events, such as employers, recruiters, alumni, volunteers, and other constituents.

    Job Duty 3 -
    Lead the administration of the office's core events, including career fairs, career workshop series, and other relevant on-campus career events. Actively mentor a student planning committee related to career fairs.

    Job Duty 4 -
    Serve as a campus resource for other units involved in hosting career fairs or other career-related events.

    Job Duty 5 -
    Coordinate logistics related to advisory board meetings, corporate partner recognition, and other, primarily employer-focused events. As requested, may also support internal programs such as center retreats and other events.

    Job Duty 6 -
    Work closely with the center's operations staff, Executive Director, and Director of Employer Relations to ensure the success of all employer-related events.

    Job Duty 7 -
    Manage projects and relationships with key campus departments involved with room reservations, catering, communications/marketing, and other relevant services; utilize relevant technology to manage events, track expenditures and communicate with relevant stakeholders.

    Job Duty 8 -
    As requested, may provide support for other career events for the career center and OUE


    Job Duty 9 -
    Develop procedures to maximize the efficiency of planning and managing events; leverage technology to improve the attendee experience at events.


    Job Duty 10 -
    Perform other duties as assigned


    Required Qualifications

    Educational Requirements
    Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Human Resources, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

    Required Experience
    Two to three years of job related experience

    Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with wide audiences. Strong ability to collaborate with multiple and diverse constituents to accomplish goals. Ability to maintain composure in fast-paced environment and provide flawless customer service. Must possess a professional demeanor with exceptional organizational, written and oral communication skills. Ability to navigate ambiguity and manage multiple tasks/priorities, while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. Highly motivated, demonstrates initiative, positive attitude, and possesses the ability to work with a broad range of internal and external constituents.

    Preferred Educational Qualifications
    Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, Human Resources, or related field

    Preferred Experience
    Three to four years of job related experience

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

    Strong command of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required.
