This position will have a direct report line to the Director of Graduate Career Advancement and serve as a member of the Graduate Career Advancement Team, within the Robinson Career Advancement Center (CAC) unit. This position is responsible for proactively engaging Robinson graduate students in a robust set of career advancement services, resources, and market ready activities to accelerate their career advancement. In addition, they also invest significant time proactively engaging employers and alumni to participate in co‐curricular, career, and professional development programs to expand Robinson’s network and help students leverage it to advance their careers. The person in this role also consults with students on how to achieve the best employment outcomes as a result of their academic program and consults with employers on how to get the best recruiting outcomes from our student populations. A focus of this role is regular, pro‐active collaboration with the GRSS Student Experience team and Faculty Program Directors, who lead the graduate programs.
Student Development and Outreach ‐‐ Provide comprehensive learning experiences to facilitate career readiness including, but not limited to career assessments, career exploration, job search skills, and long‐term career strategy for students and alumni, while linking students to appropriate employers. Collaborate with staff, faculty and/or corporate recruiters to provide programming to students. This programming includes, but is not limited to, presenting career planning and development content to students via workshops and events on topics including resumes, interviewing, professional relationship‐building, effectively attending career fairs and info sessions, leveraging social media, negotiating job offers, and building a position professional brand at work once you land the job. Promote and support students’ market readiness through the use of tools including VMOCK, Handshake, and our Robinson Digital Career Toolbox. Manage student outreach, including access to resources and counseling them on job search approaches and outcomes. Develop content to distribute to academic departments and/or students that includes campus recruiting activities, job and internship postings, and career advancement resources. Proactively send students email and social networking updates about job openings, campus interviews, and upcoming career events. Collaborate with CAC staff to effectively marketing Panther Immersion and Mentoring Program opportunities. Provide follow‐up career services for groups of students. Perform other duties as assigned.
Employer Development and Outreach - Proactively initiate contact with existing and prospective employers interested in hiring students in order to encourage engagement with current students and expand recognition with employers, proactively initiate contact with existing and prospective employers interested in hiring students to encourage engagement with current students and increase the quality and quantity of employers actively recruit at Robinson. Serves as the primary point of contact for all campus recruitment activities for key employer partners seeking Robinson talent for full‐time, internships, leadership programs, and projects in the programs this role supports, including, but not limited to, on‐campus interviews, employer information sessions, career fairs, open house/walk‐in hours, student receptions, meetings with faculty and staff. Work closely with CAC, GRSS staff, and Faculty Program Directors to facilitate campus recruiting activities for their academic programs. Collaborates with teammates to develop a calendar of recruiting activities and programs. Assists team with securing employers to participate in campus recruiting activities Hosts employers during visits, preparing rooms, coordinating with catering, internal facilities staff, student volunteers, IT staff, and associated vendors to ensure employer visits run seamlessly. Works to engage a healthy student audience by coaching employers on best practices and effectively marketing the event to students. Send targeted emails to students and alumni in order to help employers identify qualified and interested student candidates in a timely fashion (3‐5 business days)
Collaborates with CAC staff to execute corporate site visits. This may entail accompanying students to the corporate site visit for in person visits or assisting students and participating in virtual visits. Serves as a coordinator and/or liaison between employers and student organization leaders, faculty, staff and students in order to facilitate their recruiting efforts as well as securing employer speakers for clubs and classes. Ensures that all Robinson student organization information is current. Participate in meetings with employers to cultivate and manage relationships with corporate recruiters and alumni in hiring roles. Contribute to employer contact management by adding new companies, contacts and updating existing records in CAC‐wide efforts to identify top employers.
Outcomes, Feedback and Assessment – Work closely with CAC, GRSS Student Experience Team, and Faculty Program Directors to implement the following: Monitor and improve student employment outcomes, including the percentage of students who achieve their career goal by graduation and average salaries. Monitor employee satisfaction, and suggest and implement improvements as necessary. Track progress toward these goals and share feedback with the Students, GRSS Student Experience Team, CAC, Faculty Program Directors, and the Dean's office, among other constituencies. Drive response rates for % of students who complete the POM‐Panthers on the Move graduate career outcomes survey for all students graduating from each program this role is assigned to support. Assess career programs delivered to students. Identify student and employer success stories for including in Robinson marketing initiatives. Complete and submit monthly reports to your direct supervisor. Other duties as assigned.
A competitive candidate is expected to hold a Master’s degree (preferably an MBA/MS in Business) and have a minimum of 5 or more years of business experience. Preferred experience in MBA career services, college recruiting, or a related field. Experience working in one or more field that employs MBA/MS candidates, preferably participating in the hiring, evaluation, and promotion processes. Experience working on career matters with and coaching executives, MBA/MS alumni and students. Outstanding communication skills and cutting edge knowledge of IT, Social Media and related Computer skills is expected.
