Proving the Value of HR

In the last decade, much progress has been made in using ROI as in important metric for HR Managers. While progress is made, there is yet much to do as organizations attempt to show the value of all types of HR projects and programs.  In the face of many challenges and issues, success has been achieved.  

This session will highlight the progress made, the challenges faced, and the outlook for ROI use in the future.  The content will equally apply to both public and private sectors.  After attending this session, participants should be able to:

1. Describe the rationale for ROI use in HR

2. Identify the challenges and issues involved in making ROI a sustainable HR tool

3. List the steps, elements, and guiding principles in the ROI methodology

4. Identify next steps to use this tool in the future

Dr. Patti Phillips is president and CEO of ROI Institute, Inc., the leading source of ROI Competency building, implementation support, networking, and research. She helps organizations implement the ROI methodology in over 60 countries. Patti serves as Principal Research Fellow for The Conference Board, People Analytics Board Chair for the Institute for Corporate Productivity (i4cp), board member of the Center for Talent Reporting, and ATD CPLP Certification Institute Fellow. Patti also serves on the faculty of the UN System Staff College in Turin, Italy, and The University of Southern Mississippi's PhD in Human Capital Development program. Her work has been featured on CNBC, EuroNews, and over a dozen business journals.
