ABOUT BERRY COLLEGE:
Located on more than 27,000 acres in northwest Georgia in a setting of great natural beauty, Berry College has an enrollment of about 2,200 undergraduate and graduate students. The college is located in Rome, Georgia, 75 miles northwest of Atlanta and 75 miles south of Chattanooga, Tennessee. As a comprehensive liberal-arts college with a distinctive mission and purpose, Berry unites a challenging academic program with practical work experience in a context that nurtures spiritual and moral growth, including significant service to others.
We seek faculty who are committed to excellence as teachers-scholars-mentors and staff who are also committed to serving as mentors and supervisors for students who work on campus. Although not required, more than 90 percent of our students participate in our premier student work program. Employee benefits are competitive.
Berry College invites applications and nominations for the position of Associate Director of Employer Engagement. The Associate Director is part of the newly-organized Center for Personal and Professional Development (CPPD) team and reports the Director of Career Development.
The CPPD supports the college's mission and commitment to prepare the whole student for all of life in two primary ways: First, we offer all students 8 semesters of personal and professional development experience through LifeWorks, our incredible and distinctive student work program. Second, we leverage our campus-wide Career Development Network to meet students where they are in their personal and professional journey, helping them learn to navigate their next steps at Berry (and beyond). In the CPPD, our primary goal is to help Berry students develop a greater sense of clarity, confidence, and creativity as they pursue purposeful life and career goals while in college, and also after entering into a post-COVID world.
In pursuit of this vision, Berry seeks an experienced, strategic, and innovative leader who can work on a team to and across a wide-range of stakeholders to expand the reach and impact of Berry's Career Development Network. The Career Development Network model is a relatively new strategic partnership between the CPPD and Berry's academic leaders, and seeks to provide a wide range of resources (e.g., tools, trainings, advising, etc) to support the professional development of every student within each school and across all majors. The Associate Director of Employer Engagement will focus primarily on initiatives designed to strengthen relationships with strategic employers, raise awareness about Berry College within the marketplace, and enhance the quantity and quality of job/internship opportunities available to Berry students.
The Associate Director of Employer Engagement will oversee Berry's employer engagement initiatives, including a part-time events manager and team of student workers. The Associate Director will develop strategic partnerships with Berry stakeholders both on and off campus to implement campus-wide and school-specific employer networking and recruiting initiatives. This person will also serve as a Career Consultant for the Campbell School of Business and oversee Berry's Community & Industry internship program. The ideal candidate for this position will have a deep knowledge of and experience with current/future workforce trends, employer engagement tools/strategies, career development/advising methodologies, and Handshake's career management system.
Berry is a selective independent college of 2,000 located adjacent to Rome, GA, midway between Atlanta, GA, and Chattanooga, TN. Berry's educational approach deliberately unites challenging academic programs with practical work experience in a residential campus community that encourages faith and emphasizes caring for the needs of others above self. This commitment to an "education of the head, heart and hands" remains as relevant today as when our founder instilled this ethic more than a century ago.
Nationally recognized for quality of learning and quality of life, Berry offers first-rate undergraduate degree programs in the sciences, humanities, arts and human sciences, as well as undergraduate and master's level opportunities in business and teacher education. The College's stunning 27,000-acre campus affords opportunities that cannot be duplicated elsewhere. Berry's ongoing commitment is to provide exceptional educational experiences to talented students from a wide range of social and economic backgrounds.
