The Office of Career Development at the Rollins School of Public Health (RSPH) at Emory University is looking for an Associate Director to join a dynamic and highly collaborative team of passionate professionals to serve graduate and doctoral students, and alumni.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Creates, implements, and directs various activities related to the provision of career services for students within a particular school of the University. These activities may include on-campus recruiting activities, the marketing and administration of related internship programs, and career guidance and counseling services.
- Provides Career Coaching to graduate level Master of Public Health and PhD students and alumni to assist them with career development goals
- High level of team collaboration required to provide career related events and programming including two annual career fairs, mock interview nights, and other networking events
- Deliver presentations in various career subjects such as resume, cover letters, and networking. Performs related responsibilities as required
- Engage with faculty/staff and student stakeholders at all levels and across units of the organization
- Strong management skills to manage events and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced office
- Ability to work occasional evenings, some weekends during academic year
- Support efforts, events and programs across the RSPH Student Services enterprise
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor's degree in the school's specialty or a related field.
- Four years of experience in career planning and placement or a related field.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Career advising/coaching experience – the candidate’s role will consist of performing one-on-one student career coaching 60-70% of the time with graduate student populations including international students.
- An advanced degree in public health (MPH/MSPH) from an accredited school or program or related degree program with a 4-6 years of experience in career planning and placement or a related field
- Excellent listening skills and the ability to identify the needs of students
- Outstanding customer service skills and experience working with diverse populations
- Effectively collaborating skills with cross-functional teams
- Exceptional communication skills as demonstrated in presentation style and writing
- Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced graduate student environment Ability to balance several priorities without sacrificing quality
- A record reflecting strong relationship-building skills and successful marketing of career services
- Ability to collaborate with employers regarding hiring needs including communicating employer needs and opportunities with our internal recruitment team and to students and alumni during coaching sessions
- Process improvement driven with experience developing and implementing activities and events, strategic planning, vision, goal setting, data collection and management, and familiarity with current and emerging technologies
- Knowledge of career service and customer relations management software such as 12Twenty, Salesforce, VMock, FirstHand, and Slate
- Technical proficiency in MS Office, including Word, EXCEL and Power Point
