    The purpose of this position is to provide support to the Associate Director of Employer Relations and Experiential Learning and assist employers with effectively connecting with UWG students. The Employer Relations Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining effective relationships with local, regional, and national employers to increase recruitment of college's students and recent graduates. The employer relations specialist will determine hiring needs of employers and promote the college's majors to employers via cold calls, mass mailings, and off-site employer visits. This position will assist with on-campus recruitment events and will oversee the posting of employment opportunities.

    Responsibilities
    40%: Manage the execution of all recruiting related activities for Career Services with minimal supervision; specific career fairs, internships, on-campus interviews, company information sessions, and events. Maintain, update, and expand electronic employer database. Set up event management in Handshake, coordinate logistics across campus with other departments/resources, scheduling, and email correspondence. Work with employers to develop marketing strategies for employer branding, evaluate and set employer expectations, promote ethical standards such as interviewing protocols and offer/accept lead times. Manages and tracks event registrations/payments coordinates with facilities for setup. Works with faculty/staff/students/employers to ensure success of programs and events.

    30%: Reviews and approves incoming position descriptions, ascertaining appropriateness for UWG students and alumni. Develops and maintains relationships with employers to locate and develop a spectrum of applied work experiences with a focus on off-campus, full and part-time jobs and internships for students. Oversee the marketing and communication between appropriate campus departments and program participants. Conduct on-going assessment and provide feedback as to the effectiveness of such events.

    20%: Regularly conducts follow-up with employers relative to matters including but not limited to scope of duties, work environment and student performance. Assists and intervenes as needed regarding resolution of needs or concerns. Maintain resume book processes, resume referral, and other methods of presenting students and alumni to employers. Implement on and off-campus programming to connect students with employers. Serve as the primary point of contact for General and Specialty Fairs. Attend networking functions as appropriate to develop employer contacts while promoting college objectives.

    10%: Trains staff and students on the use and function of various online recruiting tools. Market and advertise open positions through campus tracking system, campus relationships and partnerships. Perform records maintenance of students, jobs, and student wages in annual reports for regulatory compliance. Other duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications
    -Bachelor's degree
    -1 year of professional work experience or an equivalent level of training, education and experience.
    -Must have demonstrated strong communication skills (written and verbal).
    -Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
    -Must be able to learn new technology and have good customer service skills.

    Preferred Qualifications
    -Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or public relations.
    -Minimum of 2 years of experience in career services, recruiting, staffing, human resources, business development of closely related fields.
    -Demonstrated experience in human resources, recruiting, career services, marketing or closely related fields.
    -Experience utilizing relationship management databases such as eRecruitng or NACELink highly desirable.
