The Sr. Business Partner Academic Affairs manages and coordinates talent acquisition activities including full-cycle recruitment, hiring, and onboarding activities in sourcing the best talent for the University of West Georgia, as well as maintaining effective programs for development, retention, and promotion.
Talent Acquisition - 60%
Guide the UWG hiring process and participate in divisional strategic planning to provide guidance to managers relative to department restructure and/or reorganization.
Develop, initiate and maintain effective programs for workforce retention, promotion and succession planning.
Recruit full-time, part-time, temporary, contractual, intern and student employees.
Manage full life cycle recruitment (post, source, prescreen, schedule, background, references, offer, onboarding, etc.).
Complete hiring process within defined metrics to minimize overall time-to-start.
Develop appropriate marketing strategies, define roles and responsibilities of hiring team, and develop service-level agreements to ensure an effective and efficient recruitment lifecycle while minimizing cost-per-hire.
Develop and implement creative and innovative sourcing strategies and techniques to build a pipeline of qualified candidates.
Human Capital Consultation - 25%
Serves as the initial point of contact for employees, supervisors, managers and divisional leaders relative to recruiting, hiring, onboarding and other applicable search activities.
Work closely with the HRIS director to collect, analyze, maintain and coordinate aggregate data for talent pool and translate those data into insights through data analysis that drives deliberate action plans and successful outcomes at the appropriate levels.
Training & Development - 10%
Conduct presentations and training.
Assess training needs and make organization development recommendations to departments.
Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success.
Follow up to ensure training objectives are met.
Compliance & Records Retention - 5%
Collaborates with Compliance Business Partner and Equity Advisor related to faculty search pool certification and affirmative action data collection, reporting and documentation.
Maintains recruiting search records.
Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field.
Other Required Qualifications
Current SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP; PHR, SPHR certification or can acquire in 1 year.
5+ years of broad HR experience including talent acquisition/management.
Recent experience recruiting in multiple discipline areas and levels, including hiring for nonexempt, exempt and leadership positions.
Experience in all areas of sourcing such as the internet, social media, networking, employee referrals, job postings, as well as conducting open houses and virtual job fairs.
Experience in working with applicant tracking systems and affirmative action plan requirements.
