Berry College invites applications and nominations for the position of Associate Director of Career Education & Development. The Associate Director is part of the Center for Personal and Professional Development (CPPD) team and reports to the Director of Career Development.
Berry seeks an experienced, developmentally-oriented, and innovative leader who can collaborate across a wide range of campus constituencies to expand the reach and impact of Berry’s Career Development Network. The Career Development Network model is a relatively new strategic partnership between the CPPD and Berry’s academic leaders that provides a wide range of resources (e.g., tools, trainings, advising, etc) to support the career/professional development of students within each of our 4 schools.
The CPPD supports the college’s mission and commitment to prepare the whole student for all of life in two primary ways: First, by offering all students 8 semesters of personal and professional development experience through LifeWorks, our distinctive student work program. In LifeWorks, students gain professional experiences and skillsets for lifelong success. Second, our campus-wide Career Development Network helps students navigate toward a meaningful future career. CPPD staff work closely together to support Berry students as they develop a greater sense of clarity, confidence, and creativity in pursing purposeful life and career goals.
The Associate Director of Career Education & Development will lead strategic campus-wide career education initiatives to enhance students’ professional communication skills and document, and co-lead a team of Career Peer Advisors. The Associate Director will also serve as the “Career Consultant” for two schools: the Campbell School of Business and the Evans School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences. In this role, the Associate Director will work closely with the respective Deans and faculty to create strategies and provide resources in support of students’ professional and career development. The ideal candidate for this position will have deep knowledge of and experience with career development/education, current/future professional communication, career management/assessment tools, and life design methodologies.
