    Albany Technical College seeks an energetic, well-qualified individual to fill the position of Full-time Student Affairs Specialist for Career Services. He/she will provide job placement services to applicants on an ongoing basis, including conducting workshops, developing a work search plan, job matching and referral services with follow-up to employer and applicant. The Career services Specialist will conduct Life Skills/Job Readiness workshops for student participants as needed, enter data from forms, records and/or reports using BANNER software or onto appropriate websites, provide on-going labor market information and perform job development. He/she will assist with completing administrative reports, update student files, and assist students utilizing the Career Development Center with various software applications. He/she will consult and interact with employers, other community job placement personnel and local employment agencies and assist with special event planning, projects and activities as requested and assist with registration functions, recruiting and marketing activities. The successful candidate must have demonstrated knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

    Minimum Qualifications: The applicant MUST possess an Associate Degree from an accredited College or University *AND* have two (2) years’ work experience in public speaking, marketing intangibles, management and/or sales.

    Preferred Qualifications: The applicant MUST possess a Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited College or University *AND* have two (2) years’ work experience in public speaking, marketing intangibles, management and/or sales and experience in providing technical assistance to individuals in a school, college business/community organization and/or two (2) years’ experience employment/workforce services.

    Physical Demands: Work is typically performed in an office/classroom environment with intermittent sitting or walking in various settings. Must frequently lift and carry lightweight objects occasionally. Full range of hand and finger motion may be required for data entry purposes.

    Salary/Benefits: Salary range is between $40K and $45K and is commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits package.
