Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging

DIVERSITY IS OUR HERITAGE AND OUR FUTURE. WE ARE STRONGER BECAUSE OF IT IN EVERY WAY– EVERY DAY.

At GACE, we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive representation of colleges, employers, and student populations. We believe diversity drives innovation and our goal is to provide equal access to all student bodies and employers and to create an environment that acknowledges and appreciates the unique skills and experiences that occur as a result of individual and cultural differences. Our DEIB strategy is based on four pillars designed to accelerate how we provide a fostering and preserving a culture of inclusion.

  • Equal access
  • Acknowledgment and appreciation
  • Concerted effort for diverse group of participants
  • Sensitivity encouragement

GACE In the Community

GACE makes concerted efforts to engage a diverse group of participants to serve on the Board, committees, task forces, and activities. Members should encourage sensitivity through promoting open dialogue and active listening, create an inclusive environment where people will thrive and feel a sense of belonging, and create an atmosphere that demonstrates respect and appreciation for the diversity of ideas and thoughts of others.

The GACE Diversity & Inclusive Excellence Award

Established in the year 2020, the Diversity and Inclusive Excellence Award represents a commitment by the Georgia Association of College and Employers (GACE) to recognize and celebrate the initiatives, policies and practices of colleges and employers that embrace diversity and inclusion. This can be achieved through hiring practices, professional development, programming, or service and leadership that enhance opportunities for people of diverse cultures, backgrounds and experiences.

GACE recognizes that diversity in numbers alone is not enough to facilitate welcoming atmospheres where all participants feel valued. It is also important to intentionally create policies, procedures and practices that invite all voices to the decision-making table. Without these proactive measures, the benefits of diversity – increased creativity, the capacity for solving complex problems, greater satisfaction and higher quality organizational productivity – are nearly impossible to attain. GACE would like to celebrate those organizations which set the standard for these inclusive practices through the recognition of this award.
